Beginning of a new era in Indian pageantry – Glamanand Group launches Miss Universe India contest
The morning of February 21, 2024 witnessed the occurrence of a significant event that shook the entire pageant world and marked the beginning of a new era in the Indian beauty pageant industry. The world’s biggest and most prestigious beauty pageant – Miss Universe appointed a new franchise holder in India that resulted in the launch of India’s most colossal beauty pageant in the history. This prominent national event will be organized by India’s leading beauty pageant organization, Glamanand Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. (popularly known as the Glamanand Group) under the leadership of its founder and the new national director of the Miss Universe competition, Nikhil Anand.
Today, on February 22, 2024, the Glamanand Group officially launched the Miss Universe India competition to select India’s representative(s) to the Miss Universe competition. The winner of the Miss Universe India 2024 title will shoulder the responsibility of representing India at the 2024 Miss Universe competition to take place in Mexico in the final quarter of this year. This event will exclusively select the representative to the Miss Universe competition and will serve as the exclusive Indian preliminary to the Miss Universe competition. It is going to be the first Indian beauty pageant in the history that will be associated with the Miss Universe brand solely serving its purpose of carrying just one national title and crowning just one national winner.
This major shift in the Indian pageant industry occurred when the prestigious Miss Universe organization parted its ways with the previous franchise holder and Glamanand Group’s Nikhil Anand was awarded the rights to be the new national director of the Miss Universe competition in India. Nikhil Anand is one of the most influential and prominent personalities in the Indian beauty pageant industry. He hails from Bihar and is currently based in New Delhi. He holds a degree in engineering and has been associated with the Indian pageant and fashion industry since the early 2010’s. In 2013, he created Glamanand Entertainment Pvt. Ltd. and launched the Glamanand Supermodel India competition which went on to become a major beauty pageant in India. In addition to that Nikhil owns two international beauty pageants – Miss Teen International and Miss Multinational and two of the biggest teen pageants in the world – Miss Teen Diva and Miss Teen India. He owns the maximum number of beauty pageants in India and is also the world’s youngest international pageant owner.
The Glamanand Group is famous for the colossal production level and extravagantly conducted national finals of their events. In 2023, the organization created history by producing the biggest ever national finals event in the history of Indian pageantry. Since its inception, the organization has produced some of the most beautiful faces of Indian origin that have excelled in different sectors like fashion, entertainment, showbiz, medicine and education to mention a few.
