It provides around 230-240 calories, out of which 110-115 are from carbohydrates, 35-40 are from proteins and the remaining are from fats. Having Rajma with rice will help you get all the benefits of it. If you are extra concerned about the carbs intake, you can opt for brown rice instead. Rajma is also highly beneficial for people with blood pressure issues as it can help regulate blood pressure and also supports good heart health. In addition to this, red kidney beans are also very helpful for those trying to lose weight. 2. BESAN CHEELA - Also called as veg omelette, besan cheela is one of India’s most favourite breakfast recipes. For the unversed, besan is made out of chickpeas. Chickpeas are rich in proteins, therefore making besan rich in proteins as well. Cheela is basically like a crispy crepe, made out of flours or lentils and in the case of Besan Cheela, it is made out of our favourite chickpeas. Cheela usually provides around 240 calories out of which around 35 to 40 are from proteins alone. Around 125-130 calories are from carbohydrates and the remaining come from fats. 3. MOONG DAL KHICHDI - Also one of the richest sources of proteins that Indians swear by is the moong dal. In terms of calories, one serving of moong dal khichdi will provide around 342 calories in total and around 216 of them comes from carbohydrates. Around 48-55 calories comes from proteins while the remaining is from fats. Moong Dal Khichdi is one of India’s most favourite comfort foods. Moong dal promotes healthy functioning of the heart and is rich in minerals like zinc, potassium, magnesium and iron. All you skincare enthusiasts, this one's for you - Moong Dal Khichdi is highly beneficial for the skin as it helps our body maintain its elasticity and keep the moisture locked in! However, since it contains rice that is high on the glycemic index, it is not going to help you lose weight. For the same exact reason, people with diabetes cannot consume this dish. PANEER BHURJI - Around 40% of the Indian population is vegetarian, making paneer and anything that has paneer in it, India’s most loved and appreciated delicacy that is loved equally by the vegetarians as well as the non vegetarians. Paneer is a rich source of proteins and fats. A single serving of paneer bhurji will provide around 10-15 grams of protein, which is also almost equal to the amount of carbs it has. Yes, we can get 10 grams of protein while consuming just 10 grams of carbohydrates and the magic lies in - Paneer Bhurji. It also provides around 30 grams of fats and often less than 1 gram of fibre. It is rich in Vitamin A, B and C and is also high on potassium, making it a real good deal for our heart health and helps regulate blood pressure.
