Journey to the crown: An exclusive interview with Samridhi Sharma, Miss Teen Diva 2023-24 finalist
Samridhi Sharma from Haryana has been selected as one of the finalists for the nation’s biggest and most prestigious beauty pageant for teenagers and adolescents - Miss Teen Diva. Currently based in New Delhi, Born in Ambala, Samridhi is student at the Police DAV Public School. She is a trained classical dancer and speaks 3 languages including English, Hindi and Punjabi. In this exclusive interview with the Beauty High Magazine, she talks about her preparations for the Miss Teen Diva finals and her journey till now.
Q. Many congratulations to you for getting selected for the national finals of Miss Teen Diva 2023-24 competition. How does it feel? What were the first thoughts that crossed your mind when you got the news that you have gotten selected to compete at the 2023-24 Miss Teen Diva contest?
Answer: Thank you so much. I am incredibly grateful to have been selected as a national finalist for Miss Teen Diva. While I was in the midst of my dance practice, I received an email with the exciting news: "Congratulations on being selected as a Miss Teen Diva finalist." Overwhelmed with joy, I ran up to my mom and shouted, "Mom, I've been selected for Miss Teen Diva!" Her happiness mirrored my own. Most importantly, I took a moment to express my gratitude to God for this wonderful opportunity that has come my way.
Q. Tell us something about the place you belong to.
Answer: I belong to Ambala, Haryana. Ambala is a wonderful city. It is also known as twin city as Ambala is divided into two parts: Ambala and Ambala Cantt. Apart from that, Ambala is known for its large Indian Army and Indian Air Force presence within its cantonment area, which was established in the year 1843. Talking about some famous cuisine in Ambala, its Bajra Aloo Roti and Besan Masala Roti . Staple food includes Kadai Hara Cholia, Singri ki Sabzi, Gajar Methi, and Bathua Raita and Tomato chutney. Ambala is close to Punjab, It borrowed many of its cultural and food elements from there
Q. Enlighten us in regards to your preparations for the upcoming Miss Teen Diva competition.
Answer: As the Miss Teen Diva competition draws nearer, I am putting in a lot of effort to prepare. I believe that confidence is a crucial skill in any pageant, and it's the main aspect I am focusing on. I am genuinely excited about the opportunity to experience this wonderful pageant. Meeting my fellow contestants is something I am eagerly looking forward to. It adds another layer of excitement to the entire experience. Currently, I am dedicatedly practicing my walk and posture to ensure I present myself confidently on stage. In addition to honing my stage skills, I recognize the significance of maintaining good skin and hair. Taking care of my skin and hair is now an integral part of my preparation. I want to ensure that I am not only confident but also radiate a healthy and vibrant appearance. I am determined to give my best in every aspect of the competition, and I can't wait to showcase my hard work on the Miss Teen Diva stage
Q. In your opinion, what are the qualities / traits that you believe could help you move ahead in the competition?
Answer: I believe the qualities / traits that I believe could help me move ahead in the competition are confidence, honesty, passion, leadership and creativity .
Confidence is fundamental for every pageant participant, as it reflects self-assurance and poise. Without passion and leadership qualities, winning is a challenging feat. Passion drives dedication, and leadership qualities are essential for guiding oneself and others effectively. Honesty is a defining trait that reflects our character and manners. In a competition where authenticity is valued, honesty plays a significant role in building trust and credibility.
Q. Tell us something about your hobbies and areas of interest.
Answer: Dancing is one of my most favourite hobbies. I have been dancing since the age of 6 and I believe that it have become my passion now. Apart from that I like to travel a lot ,If I had no limitations on budget I would travel my entire life . I have a keen interest in singing and reading. Even though I have a pretty average voice but I still try to improve myself.
Q. Any quote or saying that has a profound impact on you.
Answer: There's one quote from Bhagwat Gita “chapter 18 verse 47” It is better to live your destiny imperfectly then to live an imitation of somebody else's life with perfection. I believe that I am doing best for myself. I just need to polish my qualities and work on my weakness rather than copying someone.
Q. Who / what is your biggest support system?
Answer: My biggest support system consists of my mother and my elder brother. They are the ones who help me in my decision-making. Their true love for me has always helped me overcome any life problems. My mother, who always protected me from the world, has been a constant source of inspiration, and the unwavering support of my brother never let me lose hope in the hardest times of my life. They never let me feel alone and always motivated me at every single step of life, providing the best possible help they can.
Q. When you look back in time, what is the biggest life lesson that you have learnt?
Answer: I think the biggest life lesson I had learnt is - You Don’t Always Get What You Want

No matter how carefully you plan and how hard you work, sometimes things just don’t work out the way you want them to, and that’s okay. We all have expectations—predetermined visions of what our 'ideal' life will look like—but all too often, that’s not the reality of the life we end up with. Sometimes our dreams fail, and sometimes we just change our minds mid-course. Occasionally, we need to face setbacks to find the right path, and sometimes we just have to try a few things before discovering the right direction.
Q. In your opinion, what is the best way to handle criticism?
Answer: According to me, Controlling Emotions is best way to handle it. Improving your mistakes, staying calm in the situation and focus on your main goal is best way to handle any criticism.
Q. One piece of advice that you would like to share with the individuals who want to join the beauty pageant industry.
Answer: "One piece of advice I would like to share with individuals aspiring to join the beauty pageant industry is to embrace authenticity. Be true to yourself, showcase your unique qualities, and let your genuine personality shine. In a world of standards and expectations, staying authentic not only sets you apart but also allows you to connect with others on a deeper level. Confidence in your true self is the most radiant and empowering attribute you can bring to the stage."

Answer: In conclusion, my message to all the readers, is to 'think differently,' always believe in yourself, and embrace the idea that failure is not to be feared. It is through unique perspectives, self-confidence, and resilience in the face of challenges that we truly discover our potential and pave the way for personal growth and success.
