Journey to the crown: An exclusive interview with Rupsa Das, Miss Teen Diva 2023 finalist
Rupsa Das from West Bengal has been selected as one of the finalists for the nation’s biggest and most prestigious beauty pageant for teenagers and adolescents - Miss Teen Diva. Currently based in New Delhi, Born in Kolkata, Rupsa is student, trained swimmer and dancer. She has also walked the runway at the Indian Kids Fashion Week. She speaks 3 languages including English, Hindi and Bengali. In this exclusive interview with the Beauty High Magazine, she talks about her preparations for the Miss Teen Diva finals and her journey till now.
Q. Many congratulations to you for getting selected for the national finals of Miss Teen Diva 2023 competition. How does it feel? What were the first thoughts that crossed your mind when you got the news that you have gotten selected to compete at the 2023 Miss Teen Diva contest?
Answer: Thank you so much. I am very glad to be a part of the Miss Teen Diva competition. Firstly I couldn’t believe that I got selected; I thought it all came in my dream but when I finally realized that I actually got the mail; well, it made my day. That moment was euphoric.
Q. Tell us something about the place you belong to.
Answer: I belong to the city of joy Kolkata, where every street, every lane has a story to tell and a special food to offer. Kolkata is not just a city, it’s an emotion to the people who are born and brought up here. Every mile you cover, you will discover something new. Right now, India might not have such a name in the world of polo, but surely, it all first started from our city. The world’s first Polo Club was established by the British in Kolkata. Kolkata is surely a paradise for the book lovers. It houses the country’s largest second-hand book market and which also the second largest in the world. Kolkata is the only city to have Trams and Tangas. It is also the only city in the world where you can ride on hand-pulled rikshaws. This is Kolkata a city full of colonial architecture, art galleries and cultural festivals.
Q. Enlighten us in regards to your preparations for the upcoming Miss Teen Diva competition.
Answer: I am working very hard to be a better version of myself; consistently correcting myself. I’ve discovered new things to make it better with the help of my team captain Kashish Goswami, Rabia Hora and our director Nikhil Sir and I am looking forward to discover more.
Q. In your opinion, what are the qualities / traits that you believe could help you move ahead in the competition?
Answer: I believe confidence is the keys to success. Honesty and discipline brings up the best in us. All of us can achieve our dream if we walk the path of passion and integrity.
Q. Tell us something about your hobbies and areas of interest.
Answer: The first thing that hits me is music. Music is something which never fails me; it always takes my side no matter what. Apart from this I would also mention a few more things which give me the realization of being alive. They are dancing, reading, painting , travelling , exploring new places and the urge of knowing its history keeps me awaken .

Well these two are life changing quote for me. One brings up confidence in me where the other one helps me to be myself.
Q. Who / what is your biggest support system?
Answer: My elder sister is my biggest support system because firstly, she is a friend to me and all of us have heard that a friend in need is a friend indeed. She always takes my back and she encourages me to be the best. She is the one who always had faith in me even when I lose it. I’m not very spiritual to believe in god’s gift but if there’s something like that which honestly exists, for me with no doubt it’s her.
Q. When you look back in time, what is the biggest life lesson that you have learnt?
Answer: My biggest life lesson is,
“Today is a bad day, tomorrow will be worst but the day after tomorrow will be sunshine. Most people die tomorrow evening. “
Being a mountain person, up-down phases is one of my favourite things to deal with even if it’s about life I believe that I can deal with it. Maybe not today but someday for sure.
Q. In your opinion, what is the best way to handle criticism?
Answer: In my opinion best way to handle criticism is to be quite, move forward let your success make noise.
Q. One piece of advice that you would like to share with the individuals who want to join the beauty pageant industry.
Answer: If one individual is passionate and dedicated towards their dream, then looking back is the worst option. A beauty pageant is the best way to express you in front of the world. Pageants encourage goal setting and motivate a candidate to explore their soul, consider the future, and devise a strategy for getting there.
Q. Lastly, any message for the readers.
Answer: Thank you for the patience and reading so much about me. Also, thank you for making me write this because writing this made me think about myself after a long time; recalling what I like what are my goals, it helped me in self-encouragement and motivation.
