Julee Saikia from Assam has been selected as one of the finalists for the 2024 Mrs. India beauty pageant organized by the Glamanand Group. Born in Jorhat, Julee is currently based in Guwahati. She holds a bachelor’s degree in humanities and social sciences and is an entrepreneur and social activist. She is a trained swimmer and dancer (specializing in the Bihu dance form). Julee is a polyglot and can speak 3 languages including English, Hindi and Assamese. In this exclusive interview with the Beauty High magazine, she talks about her preparations for the Mrs. India 2024 beauty pageant and her journey so far.
Q. Many congratulations to you for getting selected for the national finals of Mrs. India 2024 competition. How does it feel? What were the first thoughts that crossed your mind when you got the news that you have gotten selected to compete at the 2024 Mrs. India contest?
Answer: Thank you so much for your kind words. Being selected for the national finals of Mrs. India 2024 is an absolute honor and a dream come true. When I received the news, a wave of excitement and gratitude washed over me. The opportunity to represent my country and showcase my talents on such a prestigious platform fills me with immense pride and determination. I am truly blessed and ready to embark on this incredible journey towards the Mrs. India crown.
Q. Tell us more about the place you belong to.
Answer: I am from Guwahati, Assam. Guwahati, nestled along the banks of the Brahmaputra River, is the bustling capital city of Assam. Known as the gateway to Northeast India, Guwahati boasts ancient temples like Kamakhya, rich Assamese cuisine, vibrant markets, and a blend of modernity with traditional charm. Its lush landscapes and warm-hearted people make it a captivating destination, offering a glimpse into the cultural tapestry of Assam.
Q. Please take us through the significant milestones in your life and how they have shaped you as the person you are today.
Answer: Working for an NGO has been a transformative experience that has shaped me in profound ways, instilling in me a deep sense of purpose and compassion. Through my work, I've had the privilege of touching lives, making a positive impact, and contributing to meaningful change in our society. It's been a journey of growth, empathy, and empowerment, and I am grateful for the opportunity to represent the values of service and community at the Mrs. India 2024 pageant.
Q. What are your hobbies and areas of interests, and how do you manage them with the responsibilities that you shoulder?
Answer: I am a versatile individual with a passion for swimming, singing, and dancing, including being a trained Bihu dancer. Additionally, I have achieved national-level success in arm wrestling. Balancing these pursuits alongside my responsibilities requires effective time management and dedication. I prioritize each activity, allocating time for training, rehearsals, and competitions, while also fulfilling my duties with my NGO. Through it all, I find fulfillment in pursuing my passions while making a positive impact in my community.
Q. Please tell us about your family and the role they play in your life
Answer: As a single mother, I take immense pride in the accomplishments of my daughter, who has flourished into a talented makeup artist and model. Witnessing her pursuing her dreams with passion and determination fills me with joy and admiration. While juggling the responsibilities of motherhood and my own aspirations, I've instilled in her the values of perseverance, creativity, and self-belief. Her journey is a testament to the strength of our bond and the unwavering support we provide each other. Together, we inspire one another to reach new heights and embrace the limitless possibilities that life has to offer.
