56. Hallo - NETHERLANDS!
Ona Moody is a 25 year old mixed race beauty queen from the Netherlands. Her father is from Zimbabwe while her mother is Dutch. She also has a brother, a sister in law and a niece that she really enjoys spending her time with. Ona loves singing, dancing and playing the violin. She has also been a horseback rider. She attended the Lucia Marthas Institute for Performing Arts MBO where she learnt ballet, tap dancing , singing and acting. Ona is also a depression survivor. She started considering the possibility of her becoming a maternity nurse because she loved children and also had a thing for helping people. Wishing her nothing but the very best.
57. Conozcamos - NICARAGUA!
Norma Huemes started working as a public accountant after completing her graduation from the Central American University in the field of public accounting. She is a polyglot and can speak and understand 3 languages, namely French, Korean and English. Norma is not new to pageantry. In fact, she entered the world of pageants back when she was just a teenager. She was a participant at Miss Teen Nicaragua back in 2015 where she was adjudged as the third runner up to Cindy Gutierrez. We wish this beauty best of luck for Miss Universe 2022! `
58. Let’s Welcome - NIGERIA!
Hannah Iribhogbe, also known as Montana Felix is a Nigerian model. Also not a new face in pageantry, she had previously won the Miss Junior Teen Dallas 2018/19. She was a participant at the Most Beautiful girl in Nigeria pageant last year - 2022, where she finished as the first runner up to Ada Eme, who is Nigeria’s representative for the upcoming Miss World pageant in 2023. Montana has also completed her graduation in the field of business management from Dallas College NorthLake Campus. She has had a very successful career as a model in Nigeria and has also walked the runway for many big designers. Other than modelling and pageantry, Hannah visits orphanages regularly and likes to volunteer there. She also has taken up the responsibility of two girls on her own. We have seen some very strong candidates from Nigeria at all the international pageants recently and we are hoping the best when it comes to Hannah’s fate at MU’22.
59. Hvordan Har Du Det - NORWAY!
Ida Anette Hauan is a 27 years old electrician from Norway. She works as a supervisor in an organisation dedicated to fight against substance abuse and advocate towards mental healthcare and spreading awareness. She also volunteers at a cat’s home shelter that provides a home and food to cats that do not have a home. She is also an advocate for animal welfare. She along with her team works towards prevention of exploitation and mistreatment of animals throughout her country.
60. Hola - PANAMA!
Solaris De La Luna Barba Cañizales is a dancer from Panama. She also works as a professional model back in her country. Before winning the title of Miss Universe Panama in 2022, she had been Panama’s representative at Miss World, back in 2018. She made it to the top 12 of the Miss World pageant and was also given the title of Miss World Americas. She pursued a degree in business management and is currently studying marketing and international business. Wishing Panama all the best!
61. Encantada De Conocerte - PARAGUAY!
After getting their highest ever placement at the Miss Universe pageant last year with Nadia, Paraguay has chosen Lia Ashmore as their bet for the Miss Universe crown this year. Lia or “Leah” is a Paraguayan model who has previously represented Paraguay at the stage of Miss Grand International. She had managed to place at the pageant, however she could not advance further than the top 20. She is 27 years of age and is considered to be one of the strongest contestants for the crown this year.
62. Bienvenido Por Favor - PERU!
Also called as the face of the competition, Alessia is one of the fan favourites. Fans and pageant nerds from all over the world are expecting her to play her beauty card and get a very high placement for her country at this year’s competition. Rovegno works as a model, actress and singer in Peru and is from a very influential family in the show business of Peru. She is the niece of Peruvian model, singer and actress Stephanie Cayo. She has Italian roots and has participated in the New York Fashion Week too.
63. Kamusta - PHILIPPINES
When was the last time we had a Miss Universe Philippines that wasn’t strong? After sending literally the sweetest - the cutest Beatrice Luigi Gomez, who pulled a top 5 at last year’s finale, the Philippines is all set to break her record with Celeste Cortesi. Celeste has Filipino-Italian roots as her mother is a proud Filipina and her father is an Italian from Venezuela. Her mother also has some Spanish and Chinese descents and She has also been a pageant veteran. She had represented the land of the Philippines at Miss Earth pageant back in 2018, the year when another one of their queens, Catriona Gray, won the prestigious Miss Universe pageant. Celeste is a model by profession. Her pageant journey is quite something to look at. She started taking part in pageants at a very young age but she kept this a secret from her family. Her mother found out later and allowed her to continue, but on one condition - She had to maintain her grades in school. Very relatable. She is one of the strongest contestants this year and the Philippines might just take home their 5th crown.
64. Witam - POLAND!
Aleksandra Klepaczka, recently turned 23 on 1st January, wishing her a very happy belated birthday before anything else. She is a recruiter, working at an IT company in her country. She is also studying for her engineering degree from the Lodz University of Technology. She had just submitted her engineering thesis when she won the title of Miss Polski, giving her the right to represent Poland at Miss Universe 2022 and possibly also at Miss Supranational 2023. After Poland’s winning performance at the Miss World Pageant, we can sure expect something phenomenal at the universe from Miss Polski!
65. Ola - PORTUGAL!
Before I say anything about our gorgeous Telma Madeira, Portugal has been sending literal goddesses to Miss Universe lately. Fans have been in LOVE with the last two Miss Universe Portugals and nobody’s complaining! Anyway, Telma is a 23 year old pageant veteran who had previously represented her country at Miss Earth, in the same year as Celeste Cortesi of the Philippines, that is back in 2018 and had also achieved the same placement as her. She made top 8 at the pageant and pageant fans had been dying to see her at Miss Universe ever since. Universe always listens to stubborn heart friends, because here we are. Wishing this gorgeous queen the best for the upcoming competition.
66. Mucho Gusto - PUERTO RICO!
Another one of the favourite favourites for this year’s crown. She is one of the oldest girls in the competition this year and also one of the strongest ones. She was previously seen at Miss USA 2021, representing Florida and had finished as the second runner up to Elle Smith. Fans had been wanting to see her come back into pageantry ever since and she didn't keep us waiting for long.She is certified to work as a psychosocial rehabilitator, specialising in working with children with cognitive diversity. She grew up, hoping to work for NASA and had also studied aerospace engineering from the University of Central Florida. She has Afro American roots and is one of the most gorgeous queens in this year’s batch. Wishing her nothing but success.
