Ganashree G Ural from Karnataka has been selected as one of the finalists for the 2024 Mrs. India beauty pageant organized by the Glamanand Group. Born in Bharathipura, Thirthahalli, Ganashree is currently based in Bengaluru. She holds a master’s degree in science and is currently working as a Principal Software Engineer. She is a single mother and has won the Mrs. Karnataka Style Icon title in 2023. Ganashree is a polyglot and can speak 3 languages including English, Hindi and Kannada. In this exclusive interview with the Beauty High magazine, she talks about her preparations for the Mrs. India 2024 beauty pageant and her journey so far.
Q. Many congratulations to you for getting selected for the national finals of Mrs. India 2024 competition. How does it feel? What were the first thoughts that crossed your mind when you got the news that you have gotten selected to compete at the 2024 Mrs. India contest?
Answer: Thank you very much. Getting selected for Mrs. India 2024 was the wildest dream for me. When I got to know I was selected for the national finals, my first thought was to read the email once again as I thought I misread it. After reading several times and confirming that I was indeed selected, I was happy and excited for my next adventure.
Q. Tell us more about the place you belong to.
Answer: I am from Bengaluru, the Garden City and the Silicon Valley of India, the IT capital of India. It's a land of opportunities for individuals who are willing to turn their dreams into reality. Bengaluru is not a city but a brand, which is enough to paint a picture of the city in everyone's mind.
Q. Please take us through the significant milestones in your life and how they have shaped you as the person you are today.
Answer: The significant milestone was watching my parents working hard and never giving up in difficult times which I also implemented in my life to overcome the difficulties of becoming a single mother to my 5-month-old son. This shaped me to be brave, confident, think positively, can-do attitude and provide care.
Q. What are your hobbies and areas of interests, and how do you manage them with the responsibilities that you shoulder?
Answer: My hobbies are playing volleyball and dancing. However, being responsible takes up most of my time and doesn't leave much room for pursuing my interests. Nevertheless, I try to make the most of my breaks and vacations by indulging in dancing and playing volleyball, even if it means playing alone.
Q. Please tell us about your family and the role they play in your life
Answer: My family includes my parents and my son. My parents have instilled in me the values of kindness, gentleness, and determination to overcome obstacles in life. They are my source of motivation and always encourage me to choose the right path, even when society suggests otherwise. My son has taught me how to be patient, prioritize, smile, and never give up on something important to me. He has also shown me that it's okay to cry when things are difficult, but I must wipe my tears and try once again until I achieve what I set out to do.
Q. Balancing personal, professional, and family responsibilities can be challenging. How do you manage this delicate balance in your life?
Answer: Effective time management is the key to maintaining a healthy balance between personal, family, and professional responsibilities. It's common to prioritize family and work over personal care, but taking some time for oneself is crucial. Additionally, having a supportive and understanding family can make it easier to maintain this delicate balance.
Q. What is the most crucial piece of advice that you would like to share with the women of this era?
Answer: Feminism is the belief in the social, economic, and political equality of all genders. It is important to recognize that this does not mean to degrade men or exploit the privilege that we as women receive. Let us strive for mutual respect and move forward in harmony
